Dobson Hopes to Lend Experience

Arsenal’s Lee Dobson hopes to lend his ‘nearly 20 years’ experience’ to a young Gunners side.

After the first matchday the North London side sit in third place, with one win and one loss to their name.

Dobson bagged the only two goals of Arsenal’s afternoon in their 2-1 win against Chelsea.

He said: “To come away with two goals in the second game to give us victory, will hopefully breed new confidence across the team.

“I came to Arsenal this season to lend my nearly 20 years of experience in the sport to this young team.”

The defender recently made the move from Manchester City and believes that his new side has great potential.

“From the warm-up of the first game being my first interaction with the team, I could see that this was a confident group of players who are relatively new to the sport,” he said.

“The lads were willing to try new things and progressed throughout the day with confidence.”

With the cup matches commencing this afternoon, the Gunners will be looking to pick up where they left off.

And the former England man feels that his new team can have a positive afternoon.

“We are preparing as well as we can to give a good account of ourselves on the day,” said Dobson.
