England head to France with the backing of the football community

Writes: Edward Perry

Excitement has reached fever pitch at The EAFA as the Men’s national team jet off to France to compete on the European stage.

Taking place in Evian between 1st-8th June, the third EAFF European Championships has expanded to 16 teams, reflecting the immense growth seen in the sport around the world. As a result, spectators both in France and at home can anticipate even more thrilling encounters.

The England squad and staff arrive in the picturesque surroundings of Haute-Savioe on Friday (31st May) knowing they have to navigate a unique set of Group B fixtures.

Georgia, Netherlands and Italy await Scott Rogers’ men between 2nd-4th June, all opposition who, like England, won their respective Nations League groups over the last 12 months.

Despite the stern tests ahead, England’s preparations for the 2024 European Championships have seen progression across the squad and Rogers’ staff have created an elite environment where the players will fear no-one going into the tournament.

England have been powered to the Euros thanks to an outpouring of generosity from the public, raising vital funds which allowed both players and staff to focus on thriving on the international stage. Knowing that their country is behind them all the way fuels this talented and hard-working group.

To show appreciation to England’s national team ahead of this huge tournament, over 150 people connected to the squad and EAFA have shared their messages of support.

These messages can also be viewed here.

All fixtures will be live-streamed on EAFF’s Facebook and YouTube channels, so you can cheer on England from home.
