The time has come for Everton and Portsmouth to go head-to-head at St George’s Park with the FA Disability Cup on the line.
Last year the two teams played out an exhilarating six goal thriller where the Amputoffees earned the trophy with a 4-2 win.
Everton captain Martin Heald said his team are ‘confident’ in the lead up to this fixture (which will be broadcasted live on TNT Sports).
Heald said, “we are always confident, we’ve got a strong group who all know each other and know how to get over the line in games like this,
“We train together every week and we have seen progression which of course is a good sign leading up to a final.”
Everton boast a very talented squad, littered with international caps and experience at the highest level, which was on display for all to see this time last year when Rhyce Ramsden put in a brilliant display and was awarded player of the match.
Alongside Ramsden, Heald highlighted the importance of David Tweed who can play all across the pitch at a world class level.
“We’re all feeling good, in training everyone is committed to the plan, this combined with the talent we have, especially David Tweet not retiring yet is a great recipe for success,” Heald said.
In the league and previous cup final this season Portsmouth have had the better of it between the two clubs but Martin and Everton insist that won’t be a factor in how they approach the final.
“We know what they are capable of and we know how to nullify they’re key players, we just need to play our game and stick to the game plan and if we do that, we will do well.”
Everton are feeling confident ahead of this almighty clash and make sure you don’t miss it by tuning into TNT Sports on the 29th June at 10:00am to watch all the action unfold.
