At EAFA we’re always trying to grow and develop as a charity and that’s why we’re calling for you to get involved with our Junior Programme.
We would like to invite four to 18-year-old amputees and those with limb-affecting disabilities along and try football in a fun, secure and friendly environment.
This year with thanks to Glasdon UK (Official Junior Sponsors) EAFA have been able to host four camps throughout the year so far, with the next camp taking place across the weekend 23rd – 24th September.
Last month’s July camp saw a record number of juniors participate in an action-packed weekend of fun in the sun. Over 30 boys and girls took part in a range of technical sessions led by fully qualified FA-licensed coaches at the Home of Amputee Football in Nantwich, Cheshire.
However, the fun doesn’t stop at Reaseheath! The programme also provides the opportunity for some of our juniors to represent the charity abroad. Later this month, 15 juniors will represent EAFA at the 2023 EAFF (European Amputee Football Federation) Junior Camp in Warsaw, Poland.
EAFF training camps have previously been a huge success, whereby current European amputee and England international football stars Jamie Oakey and Thomas Atkinson took part not too long ago.
The DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme is designed to help nurture prospects towards the England national team whereby over half of the current squad are products of the EAFA Junior Programme.
