Juniors step in the spotlight as EAFA head Europe

Writes: Sam Seddon-Davies

The England Amputee FA are excited to once again take part in a European Amputee Football Association (EAFF) Junior Camp.

The seventh edition of the event will see 15 of our young players travel to Blankenberge, Belgium over the July 18-22 weekend.

They will join 95 children from 13 different countries to train and develop their football abilities on an international level.

Juniors from places like Costa Rica and Poland will learn skills and technique from some of the best coaches in the world of amputee football.

Fresh from his time at the Amputee European Championships in June, England National Team player Jamie Oakey will be representing EAFA as one of 22 senior players attending.

Alongside Jamie are some of our well experienced instructors Elaine Oakey and Will Yung, who will be sharing their years of expertise with players and staff.

While Harry Smith will be swapping his Junior Head Coach position at the charity for the role of Head Coach at a EAFF Junior Camp for the second year in a row.

Smith says it is a huge privilege to be invited back.

He said: “I am excited again to be working alongside so many experienced coaches and getting to see the high quality of junior amputee football.”

This year's event will be in collaboration with Adidas and the Club Brugge Foundation as part of their Nobody Offside project.

Our time at last year's EAFF Junior Camp in Poland created some unforgettable moments for those involved, and we cannot wait to gain more knowledge and great memories overseas.

You can follow the action of our Junior team during the camp across our social media pages.
