The Men’s national team regroup this weekend at the Home of Amputee Football as the lads
continue preparations for this year’s European Championship.
The agendas for each camp will differ from month to month but England goalkeeper Kieran
Lambourne said: “A good training camp can look different to many people.
“Training camps are great to see where we are as a team as well as the opportunity to meet up with teammates which is always great.
“I feel that having intense sessions to push ourselves but with that enjoyable, competitive nature is always good. This combined with in-house or external opponent friendlies is really important for us and assessing our development.”
Manager Scott Rogers is forever keeping tabs on his team’s progression especially in terms of implementing game plans and Kiki (Kieran’s nickname) believes he and his teammates are going in the right direction.
“I believe we have the strongest squad and will have for many years,” he said.
“The squad’s progress has been immense over the course of the last six months, continuously building on previous achievements such as the Nations League and Amp Futbol Cup.
“Personally, the last few months have been good and I feel some of the graft is showing in my performances at camps and in the IKO League for Chelsea but I’m still hungry and determined to progress further.
“We are in the build up to the Euros and I want to make sure I’m best prepared for the tournament by putting in the work away from camps as well.”
Looking forward at the Euros, focusing primarily on the pitch, the Chelsea shot-stopper said ‘the tournament ‘has to be the most exciting part of the year.’
Kiki said: “Going away with the lads is always great and it brings us closer, the Euros has to be the most exciting part of the year.
“We love competing against the best and it’ll be a good trip regardless but the goal has to be to come away with silverware and I’m confident we will go to France and give our all."
