he IKO EAFA League Cup.

This weekend, Pompey will have their eyes set on claiming the FA Disability Cup, hoping to get over last year’s defeat against opponents Everton.

Portsmouth's goalkeeper and captain Thomas Atkinson is full of confidence his team can go out and get the job done.

He said, “obviously Everton are a good side but we know we are a good side so it will be a tough game but a great game to be a part of,

“Everton have had a lot of success in the past, especially last year but we are here to ruin the party and become FA Cup champions and I believe that’s what we will do.”

Portsmouth have every right to feel confident ahead of the game, with excellent players across the pitch with the likes of Jamie Tregaskiss and TJ Yates who have already proved

themselves to be prolific goal scorers.

Along with their fierce attack, they are packed with experience stars such as Ray Westbrook in the midfield who will sit in front of a solid defence.

Going off previous encounters between the two sides, this game is set up to be a fiery affair, full of goals and star moments – a must watch live on TNT Sports.

Atkinson however believes past experience goes out the window in a cup final.

He said, “league games have shown us how Everton will prefer to line up but it’s a one off game and whatever happens on the pitch on that day is the most important thing to focus on.”

Overall, the mood in the Pompey camp appears to be one of excitement and Aki (Thomas’ nickname) highlights that.

“Everyone can’t wait to get on the pitch and give a good account of themselves, it’s a massive game not just for the two teams involved but for every amputee footballer in

England as it provides a great opportunity to show viewers what the sport is made of,

“Hopefully all those watching will see Portsmouth lift the trophy,” he said.

Make sure you don’t miss out on the action by tuning into TNT Sports at 10:00am on the 29th June to watch Portsmouth vs Everton live.
